Having built the GW6BWX Low cost test card generator I needed to be able to program the EPROMs to put in it. After looking around the web for a couple of hours I came across the Willem EPROM programmer. It was the only EPROM programmer that I could find that still had development going on on it. If you visit the Willem web site there is an active newsgroup with hardware and software issues. As well as EPROMs it will also program PIC and AVR microcontrollers.
This EPROM programmer is not design to be a flash boxed unit. It has been designed as a low cost programmer, excluding the PCB and ZIF sockets I estimate that it cost me NZ$30 (about £12).
I'm the new guy. My question is I bought a Willem EPROM programmer, at least that what I was told. No manual, no markings on the board to tell me anything. I've looked it up and found some that look like it but mine only has the USB for power. In the corner it has a number 330/35 on it. Find great deals on eBay for willem programmer and eprom programmer. Shop with confidence.
I'm not going to put a schematic or PCB layout on this page because the unit it being updated all the time. The Willem web site will give you all the different options of building the programmer. There are also kits and PCBs for sale on the site. I made the ATH3.1 single sided PCB. It took about 4 hours to populate and worked first time.
Just a quick disclaimer, if you fry something even if my design is wrong it is your problem! I have tried to make these details as accurate as possible but I accept no responsibility for any errors or omissions. There is no technical support for any of my projects.
